To teach him to know, understand, and love himself. To teach him not to take
himself too seriously. To teach him pain can make him bitter or gentle. The
choice is his.
To teach him to show himself the same kindness he shows to others. To teach
him it is OK not to be perfect. It is the trying that counts.
To teach him compassion returns and is its own reward. To show him how to
love others, even when it is hard.
To help him understand it isn’t necessary to be liked by everyone else. To
teach him it IS necessary to be liked by yourself.
To tell him there is no disgrace in losing.
